An effort to eliminate traffic congestion problems at the Route 70 and Hartford Road intersection should begin this fall, Medford Township Engineer Chris Noll said.
Plans to improve the intersection have been delayed because the township had been waiting for approval from the state Department of Transportation and the Pinelands Commission, but after revising the project plans based on comments from both groups, Noll said the project can finally move forward.
Noll revised the plans based on the comments given from the DOT, which, he said, didn’t require the project to undergo any major changes.
“The DOT suggested a few technical changes having to do with light standards and traffic signals and the Pinelands Commission asked us to move a stormwater basin, which we’ve already done,” Noll said.
Noll said the revised plans were re-submitted to those two groups last week and once the township receives responses from them the township will be able to move forward.
“Hopefully everything is taken care of and we’ll be ready to go out to bid,” Noll said.

One Response to “Waiting on the state”

  1. Eileen Marcy Says:

My comment concerns the headline “Waiting on the state”. The grammar of this headline is incorrect. The headline should read “Waiting for the state”.
